The National Rural Health Alliance is now seeking submissions for Partyline Issue 91, to be published in mid-June 2025. 

The theme for the June 2025 edition is: Rural Healthcare Across the Lifespan.

This edition will spotlight the people, stories, and programs supporting good health from birth to death in rural, regional, and remote Australia. NRHA welcome stories that explore:

• Healthy ageing in rural communities
• Child and maternal health in the bush
• Intergenerational wellbeing
• Preventive care and community connection across life stages

NRHA are especially interested in community-led initiatives, lived experiences, and place-based approaches that reflect the unique challenges and strengths of rural health across generations.

Please note: Submissions must be in story format — engaging, plain-language narratives. NRHA often receive submissions of research reports or academic papers, but these will not be accepted unless they are provided as community-focused stories that highlight real-world impact and relevance.

Guidelines 

• Submissions should be up to 600 words, written in story format (narrative style) and avoid technical jargon. It should not include technical referencing.
• Articles should be original, not previously published elsewhere, and free from promotional content.
• Please include the author(s) names. Author headshots are optional but welcome.
• Include relevant high-quality images (jpg, png, or tif format) with captions and credits to enhance the article.
• NRHA do not publish articles about research that has not begun, is looking for funding or is only partially completed. Reports about completed research must be submitted in story format, including case studies, once the research data collection period has ended and there are findings to be shared with the community.

Deadline: Submissions are due by COB Tuesday, 13 May 2025 to partyline@ruralhealth.org.au.

Selection Process: The National Rural Health Alliance reserves the right to make final decisions on the inclusion of articles. Submissions that do not adhere to the guidelines or miss the deadline will not be considered.
