Rural and remote health research is vital for a vibrant healthy future Australia. Are you ready to share your research, case studies, innovations and ideas, to help to drive change for the future of rural and remote healthcare.

The Symposium will be held at the Alice Springs Convention Centre on the 8–9 October 2025 and will offer the opportunity for general presentations; high quality keynote speakers; concurrent and poster sessions.  

If you have research findings to share, this is your opportunity to contribute to a movement dedicated to improving rural and remote health in Australia.

This Symposium provides an opportunity for you to present and translate your research, learn from others, build collaborations and understand emerging directions in rural, remote and Indigenous health research.

To ensure that you can conduct your presentation in a way which is most effective for you, there are a variety of presentation style options. These include:

Oral Presentation

Take to the stage and present to the audience in a 20 minute speaking session.

Lightning talk

Aimed to support early career academics and the next-generation of rural health researchers. Fast-paced lightning talks can be accompanied by no more than 5 PowerPoint slides summarising the presentation. Authors speak to their presentation for 5 minutes only, followed by 5 minutes of discussion with delegates.

Poster Presentation

Visually showcase your research or services via a printed poster, displayed in the conference exhibition area for the duration of the conference.
